Friday, December 6, 2024, was the 7th Bergen County Seeds of Change Youth Leadership GSA Summit. ~150 students from ~40 different schools throughout Bergen County gathered and discussed effective leadership tactics and how to best serve the LGBTQ+ community in their areas.

Multiple organizations were in attendance and collaborated to put this together, including Alternatives to Domestic Violence (ADV), Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, NJ4S (Children's Aid & Family Services), GLSEN, and Garden State Equality, as well as the Bergen County Office of LGBTQ+ Services and the Bergen County LGBTQ+ Advisory Board. We highly recommend you check out each one of these resources and share them because we know firsthand just how useful they can be.

Bergen County GSA also had the honor and privilege of presenting and connecting with advisors and students. (That's You All!) We discussed the merits of activism, came together as a community, and shared our resources. We got to meet so many young LGBTQ+ activists and allies (and reunite with some old ones) who are all dedicated to fighting for and supporting our community.

"It was genuinely such a heartwarming experience knowing that there are so many students who are so dedicated to supporting each other and so many organizations and adults who are dedicated to giving the platform to keep fighting for ourselves. I will never not be grateful for this wonderful opportunity, and I can't wait to see what we can accomplish by the same time next year! This is still the beginning, and even though it has now been one year of BCGSA, there are more things to come!"
